AND SO AFTER WE CRAFTED A DRESS FROM ANTOINETTE'S PAINTED SILK
(SHE WAS CALLED PATTI, THAT'S HER ABOVE)
WE MADE A VERY SMALL VERSION, BY HAND, FROM THE SAME MATERIAL.
AND THEN GYPSY GAVE US AN OLD APOTHECARY DRAWER, IN WHICH WE HAD A LITTLE SPACE TO DREAM AND MEDITATE ON A TINY DANCING FLOATING DRESS. OBJETS AND LITTLE FROZEN GARMENTS, WORKED BY TWO SETS OF HANDS, TO GO BEHIND GLASS. AND THEN THERE WERE THREE:
TINY DANCER
(NOTE THE TEENY TINY SEASHELL BELT LIKE BIG SISTER PATTI)
PAISLEY
(WE GIFTED HER THE ICONS WE'VE BEEN CARRYING IN OUR WALLET SINCE OUR FIRST COMMUNION)
FLORA
(SHE'S A BIT LIKE THE ALIX OF BOHEMIA FLEETWOOD, BUT MADE BETTER WITH BUTTERFLIES)
A PORTHOLE, A RABBIT HOLE, A MIXED MEDIA MEMORY, THESE THREE:
THEY'LL BE MAKING THEIR RESPECTIVE DEBUTS WITH
ROBERTA MOORE CONTEMPORARY
AS PART OF THE 'RAPTURE' EXHIBITION OPENING NOVEMBER 29TH.
