HEY SUNSHINE: Fouché in Greece

First listen, so we can get you in the mood while you scroll through our morning musings:

We seem to remember there was a time in London when it was HOT HOT HOT.
On one of those afternoons when it was Hotter than Hades, we were hunched over the iron, sewing in our underwear,
(clothes are a luxury sometimes),
we reached for the Hawaiian print and sewed up this elasticated two piece number,
which we decided to call CHIQUITA BANANA,
for obvious reasons.
Here she is:

When we recovered from the aforementioned heatstroke, we realised there's only one character who can pull off such a look. Her name's Fouché,and you've seen her here before. Here's that lucky little duck representing Bohemia middrift dreams in Mykonos:
little island gypsy spirit,
with a touch of the Masai round her delicate neck
(as one does, when sporting Hawaiian print)

Only Fouché can get away with being so artsy and dramatic and oh-so effortlessly glamorous.
this is called crucifix chic in Greece:

ALIX of BOHEMIA Chiquita elasticated two piece cotton number.
its a skirt and a crop top and if you're still savoring sun in your neck of the woods, we'll happily make one for you too,
and we won't even be jealous of you.
DROP A LINE VALENTINE, WE LOVE IT WHEN YOU SAY HOWDY.

Us with Fouché, both in Bohemian playsuits.

Happy Friday Cowboys and Cowgirls.

SOMETHING OLD AND BLUE

You know by now the only thing we like more than a theme is a story.
This is a story with a theme, a blue note, if you will.
longtime shade of  our obsession and affection:
(INDIGO)

And as you also may remember, we like to show you how things progress, from brewing in our thread laden bohemian brain to ending up on the rail.
First things first:
You're going to get down and dirty, and you're going to need a suitable uniform.
If a leotard isn't solving our sartorial problems on a daily basis, then overalls are.
the hundred year old, lavender faded French denim kind.
This is what we wear to work:

(this is called 'something old, something blue and some boots')

And we are so in a blue mood this day we start pulling out every scrap of indigo, every shade of cerulian and navy we can find in the studio and lay them all out to consider the potential.

A very old Japanese batik panel  that Gypsy gave us makes the cut:
We consider trimming options. Gold wire trim is always fabulous, but we are craving something more rustic. And we cut triangles from an antique French market apron and decide to quilt them on.

Faded denim over Indigo, offset with a little bit of lace:

We cover some piping in some soft coral and edge that bad boy
And because we believe in beauty on the inside, we give her a seaweed lining with a tiny row of hand stitching in orange:
And we hang her up to check her out:
 This is Indigo:

Fouché puts it on:
Alix of Bohemia gold velvet Edie Tunic and
Indigo Vest:

And our favourite photographer too:
Jessie in the Alix of Bohemia Japanese schoolgirl dress with Indigo on top.

BOHEMIANS: OH THE PLACES YOU'LL GO

We do get a kick out of seeing where our clothes go, even when we are stuck behind our sewing machine.
(Our clothes have have far more glamourous advenutures then we)
Enter Fouché
(it rhymes with 'soufflé')
showing off a little, en route from Saint Tropez:

the ALIX of BOHEMIA Saffron Dress
being fancy in the sky,
perfectly paired with those nude gladiators.

Then sweet Nikki sent postcards from the shores of Javea
(it is so very useful having beautiful people wear our clothes)
The ALIX of BOHEMIA Duckie Dress:
In shades of sherbet against the shore.

Where do you wear your Bohemia?
We are longing to know!
Send us images, and stories if you please? here.

BOHEMIANS IN GREEN: CLAIRE IN THE RAGGEDY

Our hands were itching a little,
and our little comrade Claire was in need of a jacket
and so the sister to the Red Raggedy was born,
the ALIX of BOHEMIA Raggedy Jacket in Jade.
Which she wore while reading to us about purple gold and bohemian garnets from her book of gems.
And what a gem she is (Claire, not the jacket, though we love her too.)

A little ruffled trim, a touch of checkered piping and a cool glass

with some secret stitched daisies on the shoulders, on top of a little horse and hound toile

And might we suggest the perfect pairing for the wine, and the Jade Raggedy?
The Gretel Teddie Shorts, to match.
Suit up baby, its shining outside.

ALIX of BOHEMIA Jackets are made to order and completely hand made in London.
Like it, love it, want some more of it? say hi here

100 PAIRS OF TEDDIE SHORTS

Many moons ago, while preparing for a month in mexico,
we created the
ALIX of BOHEMIA TEDDIE SHORTS
for beach, for bicycle for bed:

a little elasticated bottom to see us through all of our adventures in the sun.
they were so popular, they sold out immediately and we didn't even keep one for ourselves! Literally selling them off our backsides.
we dreamed of created a large volume, each one unique, like little sweets.

Alas,
our hands alone could not make a big batch all by their lonesome selves.
And then, just as the sun finally broke through, we met Claire.
(the Blonde to our Black)
This is Claire:
A crazy cool art director and kindred spirit who jumped right on board, her capable hands and amazing eye
would make her the perfect collaborator for a little trunk show we decided to call
P A N I E R

Together we'll be showing
100 pairs of TEDDIE SHORTS
at a pop up sale this coming weekend

You're totally invited to the feast if you'd like to come.
RSVP for all the details here.

we are always excited to tell a story and we feel we must give you the low-down on our little fairy sewing partner, La Jolie.
Here she is wearing the
ALIX of BOHEMIA SAFFRON DRESS

When we have a crush on you, we make you answer questions.
(We're not very good at playing it cool)
