12 GIFTS

In this festive season,
Gift guides seem to be, like, a thing thats happening out there.
But seeing as we aren't really an authority on anything in particular,
(can one be an expert in impressions? A connoisseur of mischief? A master of tassels?)
We thought we might share 12 gifts we've been given,
one for every day of Christmas, for each which we are grateful.

Let's start with the Essentials:

1. Overalls in all shapes and sizes of course!
A uniform for all seasons, for which we are grateful.
Leather, denim, whatever, we like them:

 2. London mornings, where the light is just so:

3. Friends who gather round our table,
Indulge us in our culinary adventures,

And clean up with us after we make a very huge mess.

 4. We're grateful for our generous title,
(which is a total illusion, but we'll take it):

 5. We're grateful for wise words, of which we need to be reminded most days:
6. The gift of these people:
7. Here's one for you: Panier in Milan!

 8. For Cool Arty People who let us sew in their space after we get kicked out of our studio for the usual bohemian antics:
(cool uniform no?)

 9. For Cashmere and fur in the Cold:

10. For works that inspire, and the makers, like our Mama's rocks formed in clay:
11. The gift of our friend and mostly companion, and a day trip to the sea:

 12. And the gift of beautiful textiles we keep discovering and dreaming in. And those who indulge us and buy our wares.

Merci to you.

Whats that?
You want to know what we think you should buy?
We've already told you: Go for the jackets, man.

They are HERE.

Merry Christmas Party People.

MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME

WE SPEND A LOT OF TIME TALKING ABOUT THOSE CLOTHES WE MAKE AND LUSTING AFTER IMPOSSIBLE ITEMS
(ALI'S CAMEL COAT, GYPSY'S SQUASH BLOSSOM NECKLACE, FRIDA'S HEADDRESS)
BUT AS CHRISTMAS IS COMING,
WE ARE THINKING OF WHAT WE'D LIKE TO GET AND TO GIVE.
FOR A HAPPY HIPPIE HOLIDAY.
WE PRETEND TO HATE IT (WE ARE INTIMIDATED), BUT THIS INTERNET BUSINESS MAKES IT EASY-PEASY. AND NOW YOU JUST HAVE TO DECIDE: PEPPERMINT BARK OR PEACOCK? CAN YOU REALLY GO WRONG WITH BOTH?

GOLDBORNE GIFTS

WE WANDERED UP TO THE GOLDBORNE ROAD LAST FRIDAY MORNING (AS ONE IS SUPPOSED TO DO WHEN THE SUN SHINES ON FRIDAY MORNING) AND FOUND OURSELVES ADMIRING THIS BEAUTIFUL MEXICAN SKULL PRINTED ON OLD PAPER. WE MUST HAVE APPEARED SMITTEN BECAUSE THE LOVELY NIELS, WHO MADE IT, GIFTED IT TO US IN THE SHOP.

WE CONTINUE OUR LOVE OF ALL THINGS MEXICO EVEN ABROAD, AND FIND OURSELVES DREAMING OF DIEGO AND FRIDA, THOUGH THE CINCO DE MAYO IS STILL SOME MONTHS AWAY.

THANK YOU N. WE LOVE IT, AND WE CANT WAIT TO FRAME IT.

D AND FRIDA, (LOVE HER RUFFLES)

ALL WE WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS ANTOINETTE

THE RIDICULOUSLY COOL ANTOINETTE WYSOCKI FIRST CAME ONTO OUR RADAR A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO WHEN WE MET IN HONG KONG. SHE WAS DOING HER THING, SHOWING HER PAINTINGS TO THE INTERNATIONAL JETSET, HAVING JUST GIVEN BIRTH TO BABY ONE. SHE HAD ALL SORTS OF COOL TATTOOS, AND   YOU CAN SEE SOME OF HER MESMERIZING AND MEDITATIVE  CANVASES HERE.

FOR SOMETHING THAT TRAVELS, THE GENIUS OF PIECCO PANG HAS WRAPPED THE MINI AUDIERE WITH ANT'S SIGNATURE CANVASES, MAKING FOR THE COOLEST BOITE CLUTCH WE HAVE EVER SEEN. YOU CAN BUY ONE FOR YOURSELF (YES) OR FOR A LUCKY SOMEONE ELSE HERE.
WE'LL BE STUFFING OURS WITH CANDY CANES, EIGHT HOUR CREAM AND TUBES OF WATERCOLOURS, IN CASE OF EMERGENCIES.

RECALL THE PAINT SPLATTERED WALLS OF OUR FALL 2011 LOOKBOOK? IT WAS SHOT IN ANTOINETTE'S STUDIO IN MIDTOWN; SHE WAS KIND ENOUGH AND COOL ENOUGH TO SHARE THE LOVE, HER DRIPPINGS PROVIDING THE PERFECT CANVAS FOR THE CLOTHES:

ALIX OF BOHEMIA VITA DRESS IN SPOTS ON IN ANTOINETTE'S STUDIO.

SEE YOU SOON ALLIGATORS, WE'RE GETTING OUT OF HERE. ONCE WE SCORE ONE OF ANT'S CLUTCHES, WE JUMP ON A PLANE AND HEAD HOME FOR AN AMERICAN CHRISTMAS.

ROCKING OUT

UNSURPRISINGLY WE ADORE HANDMADE GIFTS FOR CHRISTMAS, AND IN ADDITION TO OUR ORIGINAL IDEA OF BUYING EVERYONE ON OUR LIST PATTI SMITH'S JUST KIDS, WE'LL BE SCOOPING UP AS MANY OF MAMAN'S EXQUISITE ROCK POTS AS WE CAN CARRY.

1. DESERT STAR
$60.00 USD

WHEN WE WERE VERY YOUNG, WE USED TO COLLECT BEACH ROCKS FOR MAMAN. INSPIRED BY THE FORM, SHE'S DRAPED SLABS OF EARTHENWARE ACROSS A MULTITUDE OF ROCKS TO CREATE SHALLOW VESSELS, CLAY FOSSILS OF THE SHORELINE.

EACH ONE IS THEN PAINSTAKINGLY PAINTED BY HAND AND THE RESULTING JEWEL IS TOTALLY FOOD SAFE. WE LIKE TO PUT OLIVES, ALMONDS, ANCHOVIES, TAPENADE AND SPICY PECANS IN OURS. OR USE A FEW SECRET BOHEMIAN BAUBLES ON YOUR BEDSIDE...

2. PERSIMMON

3. SCANDA
